Bubba Watson is hoping to get a call from US Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk after he earned his third win of the year.

Bubba Watson hopes he has done enough to make the USA Ryder Cup side after claiming a third win of the season at the Travelers Championship.

The two-time major champion overcame a six-shot deficit in the final round to fire a seven-under 63 and claim a three-stroke victory at TPC River Highlands.

Watson's victory follows wins at the Genesis Open and the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, lifting the 39-year-old up to fifth spot in the Ryder Cup qualification standings.

Although Watson has not mathematically secured a place in Jim Furyk's team and could still miss out on automatic qualification, he is confident of having done enough to feature at Le Golf National.

"I'd really like for him [Furyk] to say I'm going to pick you no matter what," Watson told a post-tournament press conference. "That's always the goal; to win a golf tournament and to make a team.

"My whole dream was to get 10 wins, if somehow I could get 10 wins. I didn't think it was possible to get 10 wins, then I got 10 wins and now I've got two more.

"The motivation is I've never won a Ryder Cup, so making the Ryder Cup team and trying to win a Ryder Cup as a player would be another tournament victory to me."

Victory was Watson's third in the event, having previously won in 2010 and 2015, seeing him pull within one of Billy Casper's tournament record of four titles.

"I feel like this is my home course," Watson added. "As soon as they put the schedule up, I sign up for this. I want to come back here.

"This means so much, not only from the golf side of it, but from the family side. My dad, it was the only time he got to see me win (in 2010). He got to see me qualify for the Ryder Cup at this event."
