The event has switched from August to May as part of significant changes to the golfing schedule in 2019, with Brooks Koepka returning as defending champion after his two-shot win at Bellerive last year.

Koepka will play alongside Open Champion Francesco Molinari and Tiger Woods, who claimed a 15th major title last month at the Masters, for the first two rounds at Bethpage Black.

Woods is bidding to lift the Wanamaker Trophy for a record-equalling fifth time, at the venue where he won the US Open in 2002, while Rory McIlroy arrives aiming to win his first major title in five years.

Jordan Spieth has another opportunity to complete golf's Grand Slam, having won each of the other three majors, while Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose are set to continue their battle at the top of the world rankings.
