With just a few events remaining in a hectic 2016 golfing calendar, we're asking you to select your favourite round from the past 12 months.

One of the stand-out displays was from Henrik Stenson, who fired a record-equalling display to prevail over Phil Mickelson in the final round of The Open.

Stenson lost his overnight lead with an opening-hole bogey but would go on to post 10 birdies in a ding-dong battle, with his eight-under 63 equalling the lowest round ever posted in a major.

Four birdies over the final five holes gave him a three-shot victory and a maiden major title, with Jack Nicklaus describing the contest as better than the infamous "Duel in the Sun" he played in 1977.

Mickelson would claim victory in another birdie-filled contest several months later, defeating Sergio Garcia at Hazeltine in a contender for the greatest ever Ryder Cup singles clash.

The pair exchanged 19 gains between them and were a combined 18 under par, with Garcia's blemish-free card not enough to earn Europe a full point.

After Mickelson made a 10th birdie of the day at the last, Garcia posted his own from 15 feet to see the pair share the spoils and claim half a point apiece.

History was made by Jim Furyk during the final round of the Travelers Championship, where he registered the first ever 58-round on the PGA Tour.

After birdieing the second and holing out for eagle at the fourth, Furyk rattled in seven consecutive gains from the sixth at TPC River Highlands.

Furyk picked up another shot at the par-three 16th to go 12 under for the round and narrowly missed out on adding another with a two-putt par at the last.

No player in European Tour history has even broken 60 in a round, but Alex Noren briefly threatened that on his way to a fourth victory of the season at the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

The Swede began the final round six shots off the pace but birdied nine of his opening 11 holes on his way to an eight-under 63, four shots lower than any other player managed on Sunday at Gary Player Golf Club.
