Connor Syme relishing European Tour season after securing card

Connor Syme is relishing the opportunity to be playing alongside the world’s best players next season after securing his European Tour playing privileges for 2018.

The Scot, who only turned professional in September, finished in a share of ninth at the Final Stage of Qualifying School to join a group of 33 players in earning their card for next season.

We take a look at the players to have made it through Q-school at Lumine Golf Club

The 22-year-old was one of two players from the Modest Golf group - where One Direction's Niall Horan is involved in the management team - to make it through to the top-tier, with South Africa's Christiaan Bezuidenhout also progressing after ending the week in tied-25th.

Syme posted top-15 finishes at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and Portugal Masters on sponsor's invites this season, with Syme now looking forward to appearing more regularly at the highest level.

"It has been an amazing last day and I'm absolutely delighted to get my European Tour status," Syme told Sky Sports. "I can't wait to get going in a few weeks.

"To come away with a European Tour card is just amazing. I'm going to take it as it comes. It's going to be special and I'm going to get prepared ahead of hopefully a couple of events before Christmas."
