World No.1 would play in Melbourne again There was no fairy-tale finish to 2011 for Luke Donald at the JBWere Masters but the world No.1 will leave Australia with fond memories. Starting the final day at the Victoria Golf Club on five-under and eight shots off the lead, Donald could only muster a one-over 73 in windy conditions to finish in a tie for 12th place behind winner Ian Poulter. It was not the kind of golf that led Donald to five victories in Europe and the United States in 2011, but the 34-year-old said he hoped to play more Sandbelt courses in Melbourne in the future. "I did enjoy it here and I am sure I will be back," Donald said. "I probably put this in my top-10 courses, architecturally and from a design stand point.

Stronger

"It's a marvellous golf course and I would like to experience some of the others." Donald will now spend Christmas and New Year with his family in Chicago, before heading to Florida to get ready for his 2012 challenge. Donald is already expecting another busy schedule next year but he has his eye on claiming that elusive first major. "I would love to win a major and be a part of that group," Donald said. "There are still parts of my game that I feel I can get stronger at and I will be working on that in the off season, working on winning more tournaments and working on keeping my position in the world rankings."
