Phil Mickelson used unconventional means to make his way down a hill at Whistling Straits

Phil Mickelson appeared keen to prove that you're never too old to have a bit of fun, even if you are competing in a major championship.

The five-time major champion clearly didn't back his 45-year-old legs to negotiate one of the steeper slopes at Whistling Straits towards the end of his second round.

His solution? To slide down on his backside!

For the record, the left-hander shot a "Mickelson-esque" 73 that featured an eagle, two birdies, three bogeys and one double-bogey at his first hole of the day. One over for the tournament, and enough to play the weekend.
