Sergio Garcia v Justin Rose: Masters 2017 final round top shots - No 2
Tuesday 3 April 2018 16:22, UK
The penultimate shot of our Masters countdown recalls another key moment in Sergio Garcia's 2017 battle with Justin Rose at Augusta.
The Ryder Cup team-mates began the final round in a share of the lead and played out one of the most dramatic Sundays in the tournament's history, with the drama continuing at the par-four last.
Rose had held a two-shot lead with five holes to go, but found himself back tied at the top after cancelling out a birdie-two at the 16th with a bogey on the penultimate hole.
Both players found the fairway off the 18th tee and Rose stuck his approach to 10 feet to pile the pressure on Garcia, only for the Spaniard to fire a stunning second that went even closer to the flag.
Although Garcia would miss his birdie chance to take the contest to a play-off, he would return to birdie the 18th at the first extra play-off hole and secure a maiden major success.
