Sung Hyun Park birdied the second extra play-off hole to claim her second major title at a weather-affected KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
The Korean posted a blemish-free 69 to join overnight leader So Yeon Ryu and Nasa Hataoka on 10 under, taking the tournament to the first three-way play-off in its history.
Ryu and Park both birdied the first additional hole, as Hataoka was eliminated with a par, before play was suspended due to the threat of lightning in the area.
When the play-off resumed 20 minutes later, Ryu missed her 20-foot birdie attempt and Park holed her effort from half the distance to claim a second major in as many years.
Hataoka had started the final round nine off the pace but set the initial clubhouse target after a round-of-the-day 64, while Ryu lost the outright lead when she double-bogeyed her penultimate hole.
American pair Angel Yin and Jessica Korda finished three shots back in a share of fourth, with England's Charley Hull in the group a further stroke back after a final-round 67.
Hull had surged up the leaderboard by following a front-nine 34 with five birdies over the first six holes in her back nine, only to bogey the 16th and 17th and slip back to six under alongside Brooke Henderson.
