Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson knocked out Alexander Gustafsson inside a round in Stockholm, Sweden.

Gustafsson, fighting on home turf with a world championship rematch against Jon Jones looming, had his moment ruined by the resurgent Johnson's thumping fists on Saturday night.

'Rumble' landed a clean right hook and chased the staggered Gustafsson around the cage until he fell. Johnson pounced, landed more blows, and the referee stepped in after two minutes and 15 seconds.

The fight started with a wild exchange of punches but the action paused when Johnson was poked in the eye. When they resumed, Johnson immediately landed the telling blow.

A 30,000-strong crowd inside Stockholm's Tele2 Arena was shocked into silence as Gustafsson, their top ranked light-heavyweight, had his world title hopes dashed inside a few minutes.

Johnson, meanwhile, added the latest chapter to a remarkable career upturn taking him from a welterweight struggling with weight problems into a 205-pounder who is now likely to challenge for the world title.
