Darius Defoe scored 27 points as Newcastle Eagles beat Durham Wildcats 100-73 in the British Basketball League on Sunday.
Eagles player-coach Fabulous Flournoy also passed the landmark of 4,000 points in his BBL career during the victory.
The reigning champions bounced back from an opening loss to the Worcester Wolves with the aid of a 19-2 run to end the third period.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Manchester Giants beat the Wolves 93-83 with 19 points from David Watts and 18 by Ben Eaves.
The Cheshire Phoenix beat the Leeds Force 66-48 in the other game of the day.
