Mauro Santambrogio tests positive for testosterone while still serving ban for EPO use

Italian rider Mauro Santambrogio tested positive for testosterone in October while still serving a suspension for a previous doping offence, the International Cycling Union has revealed.
The 30-year-old failed an out-of-competition control on October 22, just 12 days before his ban for testing positive for EPO in May 2013 was lifted.
He has the right to request the analysis of his B sample, but in the meantime, he has been provisionally suspended again by the UCI.
Santambrogio was sacked by Vini Fantini-Selle Italia following news of his first positive test and has not raced since the 2013 Giro d'Italia.
He was initially banned for two years but had the sentence reduced to 18 months after cooperating with the Cycling Independent Reform Commission.
Santambrogio had been due to return to racing in the new year after signing for the Ukrainian team Amore & Vita.
