Sir Bradley Wiggins on track for classics despite poor results at Tour of Qatar, says Team Sky's Servais Knaven

Team Sky sports director Servais Knaven has insisted Sir Bradley Wiggins is on track for the spring classics despite a series of poor results at the Tour of Qatar this week.
Wiggins lost time on all six stages and finished the race 13min 20sec behind winner Niki Terpstra in 78th place.
The one-day classics begin on February 28 at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad in Belgium and there are only eight weeks until April's Paris-Roubaix, which is Wiggins' primary target on the road in 2015 and his final race for Team Sky.
However, Knaven said he had no concerns about Wiggins' form.
He told teamsky.com: “Brad is where he needs to be right now. He is looking strong and has been doing a lot of extra work before and after the racing.
“It’s been a good training block for him and he has grown in stature as the race has gone on. This was a big step in terms of his preparations for the classics, and we’re only two weeks away from when they start now.
“He will continue to build up his training over the next fortnight and we will do some reconnaissance work to make sure he is ready for the races.”
Omloop Het Nieuwsblad is Wiggins' next outing. His Team Sky team-mate Ian Stannard won the race last year.
