Retül has worked closely with the team since 2010 and built a successful partnership through the continued investment in staff training on Retül technology, and will continue to provide the team with 3D technology for bike fit and bike measuring.
This year the team's performance staff conducted an in-house comparison with various bike measuring techniques and determined that the Retül Zin remains the system of choice when it comes to bike fit.
Simon Jones, Head of Performance Support and Innovation for Team Sky, said: "Retül has clearly developed a useful tool for keeping track of bike measurements. This is often overlooked by riders, but keeping an accurate bike profile and history over time is something every bike rider should have."
Todd Carver of Retül said: "Team Sky continues to push the boundaries of performance and we are very proud to have earned the spot as the fit system of choice again this year."
Dan Guillemette, Lead Physiotherapist at Team Sky, said: "Since 2010, we have developed a trusted, dynamic relationship with Retül, in terms of both product and expertise. The Retül Vantage system provides an accurate way for us to measure and replicate bike positions, assessing and collecting relevant biometric data for our athletes, which we then use to compliment our musculoskeletal screening data, and ultimately assist in optimising positions.
"The Vantage also provides a well-validated tool in our assessment of cycling-specific injuries and injury prevention; we're able to make real-time changes and see whether this has a positive or negative effect on injury and use data to support our clinical reasoning, instilling confidence and having a positive impact on our riders."
Carver and Guillemette also utilised the Retül Müve SL fit bike in conjunction with the Retül motion capture technology for quick fits and sizings earlier this year at a team camp in Mallorca. Carver added: "The Müve SL is a huge benefit when it comes to determining fit parameters quickly." Retül Fütbeds were another service available to the team at this year's training camp. Fütbeds enhance comfort and performance on the bike by customising the support of the foot for each rider.
