Other than Nairo Quintana attacking, everything was going to plan for Chris Froome at the bottom of Mont Ventoux
Froome then launched an attack of his own, taking Richie Porte and Bauke Mollema with him
But the trio all crashed when a race motorbike stopped in front of them
Froome's bike was broken, so he initially began running with it
He then ditched his stricken bike and jogged up the road without it
"Richie, any chance of a backie?"
"This running business is quite good fun, actually. I'm in the wrong sport"
Froome eventually received a neutral service bike
But he couldn't clip into the pedals and soon dismounted again
He finally received a replacement Team Sky bike
Froome eventually finished well down on his rivals
Amended results saw him extend his overall race lead to 47 seconds
