Jim Gavin's term as Dublin manager extended

Dublin senior football manager Jim Gavin is set to remain in charge of the Sky Blues until the conclusion of the 2021 championship.

Gavin has led the Dubs to five All-Ireland titles, with the team currently on a run of four in a row. Ahead of next year's 'drive for five', Dublin GAA have backed the manager with a new term to his deal.

The news was announced on Wednesday afternoon:

"Dublin GAA are delighted to announce that Jim Gavin has agreed to remain as manager of the Dublin senior football team for another three years, until the conclusion of the 2021 championship."

Chairman Sean Shanley remarked: "Jim has contributed so much time and hard work on a voluntary basis to the Dublin team and I thank him and his backroom team for their continued efforts and dedication".

Regarded as one of the greatest GAA managers of all time, Gavin will be eager to create even more history in 2019.
