Sky Sports reveals 2019 GAA live televised championship fixtures

Ex-Kerry footballer Kieran Donaghy is the latest addition to the Sky Sports panel

Last Updated: 12/06/19 6:30pm

Fourteen games will be shown exclusively live on Sky Sports

Three-time All-Star and four-time All-Ireland winner Kieran Donaghy, will join a stellar line-up of GAA legends for Sky Sports' 2019 GAA coverage. A total of 20 live, and 14 exclusive, fixtures of Championship action will be available on Sky's multi-platform offering.

  • Sky Sports will broadcast 20 live GAA fixtures (including 14 exclusive) in both football and hurling right through the Championship season.
  • Exclusive action commences when Kilkenny take on Dublin in a Leinster Senior Hurling fixture on May 11 in the first of Sky Sports' 14 exclusive Championship fixtures.
  • Two ways to watch the action: GAA fans can watch exclusive live fixtures on Sky Sports via Sky or TV streaming service NOW TV.

This year will once again see insight and analysis across the two codes from Tyrone hero Peter Canavan, former Dublin GAA star Senan Connell, Clare's two-time All-Ireland champion Jamesie O'Connor, Kilkenny's nine-time All-Ireland winner JJ Delaney and four-time All-Star defender Ollie Canning.

Lead commentary will come from Dave McIntyre and Mike Finnerty with co-commentary from Nicky English, Michael Fennelly, Dick Clerkin and Paul Earley, and sideline reporting from Damian Lawlor.

Looking ahead to the Championship, JD Buckley, Sky Ireland's managing director, said: "This year's Championship looks set to throw up another cracking summer of fantastic Gaelic Games action as the Dublin Footballers go in search of their fifth consecutive and record-breaking title and Limerick look to retain their number one position in a hotly contested All-Ireland Hurling Championship. This year we welcome the brilliant Kieran Donaghy to our panel. Kieran brings with him a wealth of experience, knowledge and pure passion. I've no doubt he'll bring another dimension to our coverage."

Exclusive coverage continues on May 18th when Monaghan travel to Kingspan Breffni Park to take on old rivals Cavan in the Quarter Final of the Ulster Senior Football Championship.

Sky Sports will broadcast live action in HD on Sky and can be watched on the move with Sky Go every weekend of the All Ireland Championship culminating with the All Ireland Hurling and Football finals on August 18th and September 1st respectively.

In addition to joining Sky Sports' analysis team, Kieran will also spearhead an important initiative for Sky Sports by supporting the GAA's Super Games Centres. Designed to keep young people playing the game they love, particularly those between the ages of 12 and 17, the Super Games Centres is one of three Grassroots initiatives that Sky has committed to investing €3m in over five years.

Kieran and some other well-known faces will showcase the work the Super Games Centres are doing on the ground in partnership with Sky Sports as part of the Wednesday evening Championship Review Show on Sky Sports Arena. The Championship Review will return to Sky Sports Arena on May 8 before the action gets underway on May 11.

Being inside the game has never been easier. GAA fans have two exciting ways to watch the action: new and existing Sky customers can (from May 6) join Sky Sports at half price for six months or fans can now access all the action instantly and without a contract via NOWTV.com, the TV streaming service giving sports fans access to all eleven Sky Sports channels from as little as €10.
