George Jarvis defeats Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong in style in their ONE Championship Lightweight Muay Thai rematch

British fighters George Jarvis, Charlie Guest, Owen Jones, Paul Elliott all recorded victories at ONE Championship Fight Night 44 in Bangkok.

Jarvis took a shot on the chin and came back swinging.

The Crawley native produced a show of resilience and finishing power to knock out old foe Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong in the main event of ONE Fight Night 44, which aired live on Sky Sports in the early hours of Saturday morning from Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium.

For Jarvis, this rematch represented far more than proving his dominance.

A possible second crack at two-sport king Regian Eersel's ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title hung in the balance - and the stakes were written all over his face from the moment the opening bell sounded.

But nothing ever goes to plan in combat sports, especially in a Muay Thai fight where a single strike could be catastrophic.

Case in point: nearly 40 seconds into the battle, Rungrawee caught him with a straight left hand that sent him to the canvas. It was exactly the type of scenario Jarvis feared. The Thai had him down and early.

What happened next revealed everything about the Englishman's character. Rather than panic, he popped back up, dusted himself off, and immediately clipped his opponent with a left hand that flickered the lights in Rungrawee's eyes.

By round two, Jarvis had seized control completely. He marched forward with powerful kicks, ripped a barrage of body shots, and when he entered the clinch, unleashed devastating elbows that had the Thai scrambling for any kind of relief.

Then came the moment. As Rungrawee extended his hands to seemingly initiate a clinch battle, the Crawley bruiser loaded up a massive left hook from his hip and released it with wicked intent. It made impact with Rungrawee's jaw, dropping him to the canvas in an instant and turning the lights off for good.

The referee rushed in, but Jarvis had already walked away, confident that his opposite number wouldn't rise to his feet. Seconds later, the referee confirmed this when he waved off the contest at 1:59 of round two.

The victory wasn't just impressive. It was necessary for the Brit's World Title dreams. With the statement victory, Jarvis improved to 29-5 and made an undeniable case for another opportunity at Eersel's Muay Thai gold. This time, he's ready.

Guest, Jones make debuts to remember

The main event spotlight may have focused on Jarvis, but three of his English compatriots also shined earlier in the show, including Charlie Guest.

Guest, an ISKA World Champion, WBC European Champion, and WBC British Kickboxing Champion, finally got his moment on the global stage. The decorated Andover striker overwhelmed Sam Fitzgerald with superior technique and composure, stopping the WBC Muay Thai New Zealand Champion via TKO in his long-awaited ONE Championship debut.

What made this dominant isn't just the finish. It was the journey that brought him there.

Charlie Guest claims victory over Sam Fitzgerald in their ONE Championship Featherweight Muay Thai clash

Guest entered the clinch with Fitzgerald in round one of the featherweight Muay Thai bout, with each man trading elbows and knees at close quarters. It was a complete stalemate. However, the New Zealander landed some body shots, which appeared to affect the Englishman.

When round two arrived, the knockout artist flipped the switch. He exploded outward with a boxing combination that broke Fitzgerald's resolve entirely.

The New Zealander buckled twice under Guest's assault before collapsing for good at 2:08 of round two. Years of pursuing ONE Championship finally paid off in devastating fashion.

London's Owen Jones also made his promotional debut, and it came with some sweet revenge. The 21-year-old featherweight submission grappler defeated Fabricio Andrey via split decision, avenging a loss from three years prior in the night's sole grappling encounter.

In the opening minutes, both men felt each other out and used their wizardry to force a takedown. At first, neither competitor had much luck.

Jones, however, found his moment in the second half of the tilt, securing a leg lock to earn a catch. However, Andrey escaped and scored a catch of his own with an armbar. The Londoner seemed to be in serious trouble, but the grappling phenom escaped the danger to see out the contest.

The judges were split, but Jones' aggression earned him the nod and the redemption he had been looking for.

Elliott makes history with quick knockout

Jarvis stepped closer to a title shot, Guest made an unforgettable debut, and Jones got his revenge. But Paul Elliott is the one who entered the history books.

Paul Elliott beats Regan Upshaw with a head kick after just six seconds of their ONE Championship Heavyweight bout

The Middlesbrough beast went toe-to-toe with American college football star Regan Upshaw in the show's heavyweight MMA opener, but the match didn't last long. Elliott pawed out his jab and then whipped a thunderous left head kick at his rival.

While Upshaw blocked it, the impact of the shin was so powerful that it instantly crumpled him to the canvas. A single follow-up hammerfist ended the proceedings.

In total, the bout lasted six seconds, which put the Middlesbrough into the ONE Championship record books for fastest knockout victory, a title he shares with Mario Satya Wirawan, Timofey Nastyukhin, and Capitan Petchyindee.
