Arjun Maini has explained his radio rant following the F2 Sprint Race in France was caused by frustrations over what he felt was an ongoing lack of engine power.

The Indian driver qualified in 17th, nearly three tenths slower than his Trident team-mate Santino Ferrucci.

He then finished 10th in the Feature Race - over 90 seconds behind winner George Russell and 13th in the Sprint Race - over 59 seconds behind winner Nyck de Vries.

On the team radio after the race Maini said: "I swear you guys don't support me at all. I do everything every ****ing session!

"You can't do this to me, mate! I have no ****ing power out of the corner, why doesn't anybody ****ing believe me?"

After Sunday's race, Maini revealed that his comments we aimed at the series organisers and explained his frustrations.

"All weekend we lost almost 7km/h down the straight, and we had a problem in free practice," he told motorsport.com.

F2 Sprint Race Report

Nyck De Vries took victory in another action-packed F2 race at the French GP to move himself up to third in the championship standings.

"They said there was a pipe that was melting, we replaced it for qualifying and it melted again. I had no straightline speed again compared to my team-mate or anybody else.

"They said they fixed the problem, Race 1 I had no straightline speed again, and now we have to check the data but [in Race 2] I had no straightline speed again.

"I think a few others had the same issue as me, and some of the engines are pulling like crazy.

"They say it's a one-make championship but it's not a one-make championship. It's a joke, what's going on in this championship right now."
