Since its first transmission 25 years ago, Sky Sports has changed the experience of watching sport on TV. In the month before Sky Sports began, there were just 27 hours of sport on TV.
Now, it's a different landscape - there are 5,000 hours on average shown by Sky Sports alone, and with that has come greater investment at all levels of sport, more detailed analysis, and a wide variety of ways to view and participate in an ever-growing number of matches and tournaments.
Here's how Sky Sports has transformed the field of sports broadcasting...
1991
On April 20, Sky Sports launches, broadcasting 4,278 hours of sport by the end of 1991
1992
Premier League coverage launches on Sky Sports
