An All Star display

Leo Gregory says he's sick of Geoff Bell talking about his Premier League All Stars performance!

Last Updated: 23/08/08 6:11pm

Leo Gregory told Soccer AM he's sick of Geoff Bell talking about his Premier League All Stars performance!

The actors popped into the studio on Saturday morning for a chat about their new film, Daylight Robbery, and of course their beloved footy teams.

Gregory, who was making his hat-trick appearance on the show, was slightly down beat after Tottenham started their season off with a defeat to Middlesbrough last week.

But he revealed he was more annoyed with Bell's constant boasting about his 'man of the match' performance in Sky One's Premier League All Stars tournament last year!

"I can't start a day without Geoffrey telling me that he was man of the match or man of the tournament," said Gregory. "He was the best thing since Pele and Maradona put together!"

Despite being a Millwall fan, Bell played for the West Ham team which was made up of past heroes and celebrity fans and was indeed one of the players of the tournament - something that he wasn't in the slightest bit bashful about!

"I didn't know how much they were all talking about me!" he said. "Rodney Marsh, all of them. I had Steve Claridge (come up to me) and I was like 'jog on Claridge,'!

"Claridge had never spoken to me in my life and he wanted to give me tips! I was like 'go on, on your way!'"

Vest

He may have shown some silky skills and equally tidy finishing but Gregory wasn't going to let him get away with playing for West Ham, despite Bell claiming he had a Millwall vest on underneath!

"You'd never catch me wearing an Arsenal shirt," said Gregory.

"Well it was for charity wasn't it," replied Bell. "And then Danny Dyer asked me and then obviously Tamer (Hassan) got involved because they come as a pair them two!

"And I thought it would be good for the London boys and it was. It was a really good tournament and I had a really good time."

As well as having a really good time Bell was convinced that he should have made some money at the tournament after winning a bet with Lee Sharpe, which the former Manchester United winger had yet to settle.

"We had a bet that we would beat them and that I would nutmeg him!" He explained. "I fancy I did it but there was some confusion because someone came along and we crashed into each other."

Max and Helen decided to settle the matter once and for all and dug out the footage for everyone to see. And the verdict...no nuts!

Bell still wasn't convinced though and said he would still be chasing Sharpe for his £50... watch this space!
