Briton Lucy Campbell is bidding to become the first Olympic gold medallist in surfing.
She says it's a "niche" sport but 23-year-old Lucy Campbell from Devon is hoping her dream will make big waves when the Tokyo Olympics come around next year.
Injury forced Campbell to give up on her original Olympic ambition of taking part in middle-distance running, but since then she has focused full-time on her other great passion surfing - one of five sports making their Olympic debut in Japan.
Campbell has always loved the water since moving to the West Country as a youngster and became British champion when she was still a teenager.
Since then she has turned pro and travelled the world training and competing to become the very best.
There have been several snapped boards along the way and she admits to finding it difficult to keep motivated throughout the winter months, but with Tokyo just around the corner Campbell is riding on the crest of the wave.
