Cane able to take on fellow light heavyweight Nedkov on home soil
Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua will get the chance to avenge his debut loss to Forrest Griffin when the pair go head-to-head again at UFC 134 on August 27.
The match-up, confirmed by UFC president Dana White, will see Rua have home advantage in Brazil, which will be staging an event for the first time since 1998.
Griffin won their first meeting four years ago in Anaheim by submission in the third round. He was a heavy underdog on that occasion.
Rua lost the light heavyweight title to Jon Jones at UFC 128 in March having claimed the belt last year by sensationally knocking out Lyoto Machida.
"These two former world champions always give it their all and this could be one of the most exciting fights of the year," White said.
Meanwhile, Stanislav Nedkov and Brazilian Luiz 'Banha' Cane - two more light heavyweights - have "verbally agreed" to meet on the same card in Rio.
There are also lightweight fights slated between Spencer Fisher and Thiago Tavares and then Edson Barboza v Takanori Gomi.
