Helen Glover and Heather Stanning stormed to their fourth career gold medals at the World Rowing Championships after successfully defending their coxless pairs title in France.
The Olympic and European champions have now extended their unbeaten run as a pairing to 28 races, spanning more than four years.
Glover and Stanning made a blistering start in Saturday's final and were already three-quarters of a length in front after just 250m.
They extended that lead to three seconds by the halfway stage, eventually crossing the line in 6mins 52.99secs, finishing almost four seconds clear of New Zealand. USA finished third.
The British duo, who secured their places at Rio 2016 after winning their semi-final on Saturday, insist there is more to come from them in as they build up to next year's Olympic Games.
Stanning said. "We have worked very, very hard and it's exciting because we feel there are more improvements to come."
Glover said: "We wanted to feel the pressure here of defending a title because that is what we will have to do in Rio."
GB Rowing Team Performance Director, Sir David Tanner, added: "That was utterly exceptional. In my book, that ranks as one of the best GB performances of all time."
