Swedish World Cup freestyle skier Anna Holmlund remains in a medically induced coma after being transferred to a hospital in Sweden after a training crash in Italy.

Three-time ski cross World Cup champion Holmlund sustained facial fractures and bleeding on the brain after a training crash at the South Tyrol resort of Innichen just before Christmas.

Holmlund, who won bronze at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, underwent brain surgery at a hospital in the Italian town of Bolzano last week.

Swedish ski cross federation doctor Jakob Swanberg said Holmlund's condition was stable enough for her to be flown to Stockholm's Karolinska Institutet hospital.

"Anna remains in a coma and still needs to be in intensive care," Swanberg added.
