Sky Sports' Jeff Stelling has been named Broadcast Journalist of the Year for the third year running! The past year has been another prestigious one for Jeff Stelling, who not only continued to lead the Soccer Saturday panel with wit and charm, but also presented his first cup final. The Carling Cup Final was an even more enjoyable viewing experience as it was brought to us by Jeff! After collecting the Sports Journalists' Association award, Stelling spoke to skysports.com about claiming his hat-trick. "Bizarrely they've only had this award three years," said Stelling, "so I thought it might be somebody else's turn! "But I was very, very pleased, especially as I was in such good company with the other nominations - the likes of Martin Tyler, Adrian Chiles and Jim Rosenthal and Alan Green - some real top broadcasters. "It's voted for by fellow journalists and I thought they would've been sick of me stealing their best lines by now! "After receiving the award, one or two people said to me that they would rather watch Soccer Saturday now than go to live games, which is great." "Phil Thompson sent me a message of congratulations first thing this morning - he woke me up with it! That's typical of Phil who's a very generous bloke."
