Zhang Yining and Wang Hao claim singles titles
Zhang Yining and Wang Hao claimed the women's and men's singles titles at the World Table Tennis Championships on Tuesday.
Zhang, the reigning world number one and Beijing Olympic gold medallist, came from behind to beat defending champion Guo Yue and regain the title she last won in 2005.
She stormed back from two games down for a 10-12, 3-11, 11-2, 11-7, 11-7, 11-9 victory to gain revenge over the world number two who she lost to in the 2007 championships.
Meanwhile, Wang Hao lived up to his world number one status by beating three-time champion Wang Liqin to win the men's title.
Wang Hao, who won the men's doubles title with Chen Qi on Monday, made it a double victory with an 11-9, 13-11, 11-5, 11-9 win over the world number five.
It was China's third straight men's singles title and 15th overall at the world championships, while Zhang's victory was China's 18th women's singles title.
China had already assured itself of a clean sweep of all five titles in Yokohama, with all-Chinese finals in every event.
As well as Wang Hao and Chen Qi's victory in the men's doubles title, Guo Yue and Li Xiaoxia took the women's doubles, and Li Ping and Cao Zhen clinched the mixed doubles title.
