Annette Obrestad the Wizard of Oz

One of the game's best female players is making a splash down-under after winning her first Pot Limit Omaha tournament at the Aussie Millions.

Annette "Annette_15" Obrestad is one of the most feared No Limit Hold'em players in the world, having won the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event at the age of 19. Now the young Norwegian has announced her arrival as an Omaha powerhouse after winning her first ever Pot Limit Omaha tournament in Australia. While the AUS$40,000 first prize pales in comparison to her £1m WSOPE payday, the tournament is significant for the young lady who has switched her attentions to Omaha. Beginning the final table in third place, she was soon able to wrestle the chip lead and ultimately first prize. The final hand came after Obrestad's Kc-Jd-Jh-2s held up against Billy Seri's inferior Kh-Jc-9h-8d, with the board rolling out Ac-9c-Ah-2c-Tc to make her the first woman Aussie Millions event winner. Now that she's over 21, the World Series can expect Annette_15 to land with a vengeance come this summer.
