Barrett denied WWE title

Wade Barrett was victorious at Bragging Rights, however his disqualification victory was not enough to secure the WWE title.

During Wade Barrett's WWE Title Match against champion Randy Orton at Bragging Rights, the leader of The Nexus not only ordered John Cena to remain in his corner, but dropped a bombshell prior to the bout: If he were to lose the match, Cena would be fired from WWE!

Although Barrett felt confident that he had cemented what looked to be an almost certain title triumph, a reluctant Cena managed to essentially outsmart him and deny the Englishman victory, allowing Orton to retain.

Midway through the match, the referee was knocked unconscious. Taking advantage, the remaining three members of Nexus rushed the ring to attack Orton. They were quickly chased off by Cena, who explained that he was trying to save Barrett from being disqualified.

Then, in a turn of events, Cena pushed Orton aside and hoisted Barrett atop his shoulders. For a moment, it appeared as if Cena had suffered enough abuse and was going to avenge himself with an Attitude Adjustment. When the Englishman came crashing to the canvas, however, Cena's brainstorming idea had suddenly revealed itself.

Devastating

He had ensured Barrett's victory by disqualification - and saved his career in the process. Although the Englishman had officially prevailed, the title cannot change hands due to a disqualification.

Still WWE champion, WWE's Apex Predator then dropped both Barrett and Cena with two devastating RKOs.

Last week, World Heavyweight Champion Kane's father Paul Bearer vowed that The Undertaker would be "drowned in a hell of dirt and darkness" in the Buried Alive Match.

At Bragging Rights, those words came true as "The Devil's Favourite Demon" Kane defeated his brother with a little help from The Nexus.

The four members of The Nexus surprisingly attacked The Deadman during the bout, after which, the legendary Superstar was finally knocked into a dark, suffocating pit.

There was little The Deadman could do as he lay helpless and vulnerable at the bottom of the grave, but watch as Kane flashed a cruel smile as tons of dirt poured from a bulldozer into the burial plot.

In the 7-on-7 Tag Team Elimination Match, Team SmackDown defeated Team RAW to take home the WWE Bragging Rights trophy for the second year in a row.

Supreme

The final four Superstars remaining in the match were Edge and Rey Mysterio vs Ezekiel Jackson and Team RAW captain The Miz. In the end, it was a Spear from The Rated-R Superstar to The Miz which earned Team SmackDown the win.

Also at WWE Bragging Rights, the unlikely combination of John Cena and David Otunga reigned supreme over Drew McIntyre & "Dashing" Cody Rhodes, delivering the WWE Tag Team Championships into the hands of The Nexus.

Elsewhere, United States Champion Daniel Bryan and Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler contested the best wrestling match of the night.
