Actor Jamie Foreman talked Tottenham, the Olympic Stadium and new movie Ironclad on Soccer AM.
Actor talks Spurs' night in Milan - and laying into movie extras!
Jamie Foreman told
Soccer AM that Tottenham's Champions League victory over AC Milan was the best he has ever seen them play.
The actor has been a regular at White Hart Lane since the 1970s but told Max and Helen that the 1-0 victory at the San Siro a couple of weeks ago will live long in his memory.
Londoner Foreman - famous for his roles in Gangster No. 1 and Layer Cake - now expects Spurs to finish the job against Milan and make it to at least the semi-finals of Europe's premier knockout competition.
And he also predicts Harry Redknapp's side will fend off the challenge off Chelsea and secure their second consecutive top-four-finish in the Premier League.
"The AC Milan game was fantastic," beamed Foreman. "It was the best Spurs performance I've ever seen.
"There was no Gareth Bale but everybody stood up was counted; Harry really knows how bring the best out of them.
"I think we'll make the semis. We're also fourth in the Premier League at the moment and it's great that Manchester City and us are breaking that stranglehold.
"We had a glitch against Blackpool but I think that's because Harry had a soft spot for what they've done this season! But if we stay strong, I think we'll stay fourth."
Crying out
Spurs lost out to West Ham in the battle for the 2012 Olympic Stadium, with the decision-making committee preferring the Hammers' plans to maintain the athletics track that will circle the arena.
However, Foreman believes Tottenham should have been awarded the venue, something that would also have boosted the Crystal Palace athletics ground.
"If we want to stay in the top four, we need a big stadium" he said. "We've had all the problems trying to build a new White Hart Lane and there's this stadium crying out for a top-four team.
"And the money we would have put into Crystal Palace would have been fantastic. I live around that area and it needs regeneration."
Violent
Foreman's new movie Ironclad is a fast-paced action film based on the siege of Rochester Castle by King John in 1215.
And he revealed that whilst filming things got a little vicious - for both him and the extras!
"A lot of films nowadays are sanitised; you get a lot of violence but you see it from a long way away," said Foreman.
"But what we did was up close and personal. It's violent but it's supposed to be violent as it's representative of medieval fighting. It was agony, though! You got big lumps all over you, and plenty of wear and tear.
"The extras were dying to get on camera as well, so they'd say 'Can you kill me?' just so they could get a bit of screen time.
"I remember beating this Hungarian stuntman to death with a severed arm. He was 6ft 4 and built, but he was saying 'Please Jamie, stop hitting me so hard!'"
