Champion distracts Cena and mocks The Rock

This week, WWE Champion The Miz imitated Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and viciously punished his WrestleMania rival, John Cena. On a packed edition of Monday Night RAW, John Cena faced off against Alberto Del Rio, the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. As the two men squared off in the main event, Del Rio's former NXT Rookie, Brodus Clay watched from the Mexican's corner until the proceedings were interrupted by The Rock. Or at least by someone who looked like The Rock. In actual fact, it was WWE Champion The Miz dressed as The Brahma Bull. Miz' games distracted Cena, who quickly fell under the attack of Del Rio and Clay. With the Cenation leader down in the ring, Miz joined in the beatdown, eventually leaving Cena in a battered and bruised heap on the stage. Kicking off this week's show, The Rock took aim at both Miz and John Cena with yet another hilarious verbal tirade. The Great One belittled the two WrestleMania rivals, first cracking on Cena's maturity and then threatening to layeth the SmackDown on Miz.

After a run of frustrating losses, Sheamus vowed to win the United States Championship from Daniel Bryan or he would quit WWE altogether. When the two clashed in the ring, both men pulled out all the stops in a thrilling and competitive match-up. In the end, The Celtic Warrior prevailed with a powerful Brogue Kick to log his first win in weeks and acquire the US Championship. In a repulsive effort to discredit his WrestleMania opponent, Jerry "The King" Lawler, the RAW announcer brought out Lawler's son, Brian Christopher, to confront him. A former WWE Superstar, Christopher (also known as Grandmaster Sexay) accused his father of being absent from his life growing up and proclaimed that he was the bigger Superstar of the two. Coming to Lawler's defence was his former announce partner, Jim Ross. As J.R. stood up against the self-proclaimed "Voice of the WWE", Cole's trainer, Jack Swagger, attacked. He then slapped an ankle lock on the WWE Hall of Famer before relenting and imploring Cole to slap an ankle lock on Ross himself. Randy Orton prevented Mason Ryan from being in CM Punk's corner during their upcoming WrestleMania bout. The Viper stunned Ryan with an RKO and followed that up with a swift punt to the skull, which incensed the Nexus leader who could only look on in despair. WWE RAW returns next Monday Night at the earlier start time of 1am on Sky Sports HD3.
