WWE Main Event: Sheamus beats The Miz - but not with trademark Brogue Kick
Awesome One keeps "Moneymaker" intact ahead of Battleground
Thursday 17 July 2014 13:54, UK
Try as he might, Sheamus just cannot Brogue Kick The Miz.
The Celtic Warrior failed to boot The Awesome One on Raw as he was caught in a roll-up pin, and his two attempts at flooring his rival with his trademark move were also scuppered on Main Event.
The consolation for the Irishman, though, was that he did manage to defeat The Miz on Tuesday, taking the scoreline in their rivalry to 1-1 ahead of the Intercontinental Title Battle Royal at Battleground.

Sheamus first tried to clatter the star of Marine 4 on MizTv – after the host had made some derogatory comments about his hometown Cleveland, Ohio – but narrowly missed his target.
The Miz also avoided getting his face – or his “Moneymaker”, as he calls it – clobbered by the Dublin powerhouse during Main Event’s main event, though he was swiftly downed by a three-count.
Both competitors will now head to Battleground hoping to land the Intercontinental Championship, but Naomi and Cameron will journey to the pay-per-view looking to settle a score in a grudge match.
The Divas, who formerly competed as the Funkadactyls, have undergone an animosity-filled break-up, with plenty of fracases taking place over the past few weeks, most recently on Main Event.
Cameron lost to Emma but before she could issue a post-match beating to the Australian, Naomi rushed to the ring, sent her ex-comrade running up the ramp and added more spice to Sunday’s clash.
There was also a win for Big E and Kofi Kingston on Tuesday evening, with the friends besting RybAxel in a hard-hitting contest after Kingston blasted Axel with Trouble in Paradise.
