British swimmer Adam Peaty says he has never been so confident with his stroke heading into the Rio Olympics

Huge investment has been made in British swimming in order to ensure that Team GB's swimming team returns from Rio with a higher medal count than at London 2012.

Almost £21 million has been invested in British elite swimming since the last summer Olympic games in London.

Team GB possess a three-time world champion in Adam Peaty, who will be heading to Rio fresh from winning two gold medals in May's European Championships, also held in London.

Chris Spice, Britain's swimming performance director said: "The great thing about Adam is that he's a brilliant racer.  I know who I'd put my money on if it was a close race."

The target is to come back from the games with five medals, which would be considerably better than four years ago, when Team GB achieved a disappointing two bronzes and one silver.
