Siobhan-Marie O'Connor has revealed her delight after making the shortlist for the Young Sportswoman of the Year award.
The 20-year-old from Bath has enjoyed another incredible year in the pool and was one of the GB heroes in Rio when she produced fireworks in the 200m individual medley final and missed out on gold by a fingertip.
She also smashed the British record by winning silver and her efforts have been rewarded with a nomination for the prestigious annual award for the second year running.
O'Connor, supported on the Sky Academy Sports Scholarship scheme since London 2012, said: "It's such an honour to be nominated for Young Sports Woman of the Year among so many brilliant and inspiring girls.
"I can't wait for the evening to celebrate what's been a brilliant year for women's sport."
The winner will be announced on December 8. The shortlists of finalists were recently confirmed for the 2016 Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards in association with Vitality.
O'Connor's rise has been a dramatic one having begun training in Bath at the age of nine.
She has gone on to make her Olympic debut as a 16-year-old in London in 2012, secured six medals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and won relay gold at the World Championships in Kazan in 2015.
But this year has been a stunner, with double gold and silver in the European Championships in May and three titles at the British Championships in Glasgow before her heroics in Rio.
