British Gymnastics have confirmed coach Eddie Van Hoof has been suspended following allegations of misconduct.
Van Hoof guided the British men's team to five medals at the Rio Olympics and was named 2016 coach of the year for his part in that success story.
Max Whitlock won double Olympic gold on the floor and pommel - also adding a bronze in the all-around competition - while Louis Smith took silver on pommel and Nile Wilson secured GB's first ever Olympic high bar medal.
A statement from the governing body read: "British Gymnastics confirms that an independent investigation is being conducted into allegations of misconduct relating to Eddie Van Hoof, pending the outcome of which he has been suspended.
"The suspension is not a disciplinary penalty, and indeed does not imply any assumption of guilt. We will not be making any further comment at this time."
