Team Brunel have won a very closely fought Leg 9 of the Volvo Ocean Race, finishing just 4min and 05sec ahead of fellow Dutch crew Team AkzoNobel.
The leg consisted of 3,300 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean from Newport, Rhode Island, to Cardiff, and moved Brunel to within three points of the overall race lead.
Due to the double-points dished out on this leg, Dongfeng, who came in third, leapfrogged MAPFRE to secure the overall lead by a point.
Sky's partner team, Turn the Tide on Plastic, finished Leg 9 in sixth position as the race arrived in Wales for the first time in its 45-year history.
"We had some of the best sailing the guys have done the entire race, so they were buzzing," Turn the Tide on Plastic skipper Dee Caffari said after arriving in Cardiff.
The 10th leg from Cardiff to Gothenburg in Sweden, starts on Sunday 10 June.
