Pulsirivong takes up role

Sindhu Pulsirivong has been made president of the World Professional Snooker and Billiards Association (WPBSA), with Chinese Olympic Committee member Zhang Xiaoning joining the board subject to approval from the Ministry of Sport in China. WPBSA chairman Jason Ferguson said: "We are thrilled to appoint Sindhu as president. Thailand, like China, is a growing market for our sport and Sindhu has been a great supporter of snooker over the years. "These appointments represent our belief in the future globalisation of our sport." Former referee Alan Chamberlain has also been co-opted on to the board.
