Defending champion Neil Robertson wasted little time in booking his place in the quarter-finals of the Wuxi Classic in China.

The Australian raced to a 5-1 victory over Michael Holt, which included a break of 130, to set up a last-eight clash with another Englishman, Shaun Murphy.

Murphy secured his place with a 5-2 third-round win over 17-year-old Chinese player Zhao Xintong despite his highest run amounting to only 45.

Liang Wenbo, who dispensed with World Champion Mark Selby in round two, could not repeat the feat as he was comprehensively beaten 5-2 by Joe Perry.

Perry's reward is a head-to-head with Finland's Robin Hull, a 5-1 winner over China's Cao Yupeng.

Decider

Hong Kong's Marco Fu edged his way to a quarter-final against Barry Hawkins after being taken all the way by Stuart Bingham.

Fu made two centuries on the way to a 5-4 victory which was sealed 78-34 in the final frame.

Hawkins made short work of seeing off Scotland's Alan McManus with a best of 138 in a 5-2 win.

But fellow Scot Stephen Maguire fared rather better as he whitewashed Judd Trump to set up a showdown with Martin Gould.

Maguire rattled off five frames on the trot to claim victory, although Gould had to work a little harder to see off Ryan Day 5-3.
