It was one of the most watched segments in RAW history as millions around the world tuned in to see what Kane looked like for the first time.

Rumoured to have been badly burned in an accident as a child, Kane was forced to unmask after losing a match against Triple H almost 14 years to the day.

It will go down as one of the most famous moments in WWE history at Madison Square Garden as the 'Big Red Monster' finally showed his face, which was actually just a bit ash-covered.

Certainly, the shouts of 'it's hideous' from co-commentator Jerry 'The King Lawler' appeared harsh, but it seemed everyone had bought in to Kane's epic backstory.

It takes a lot of guts to impersonate a monster like Kane, and these five Superstars put on his signature mask and did their best Kane impression

Making his debut at Badd Blood in October 1997, Kane was supposed have been left severely scarred from an accident in his youth, hence his obsession with fire and hiding his identity.

As he developed in WWE he started to become more modern, with more flattering ring gear showing his skin looking to be OK.

But there was still a huge level of intrigue when the 'Devil's Favourite Demon' showed his face to the world and it started a process that saw Kane's character become even more unpredictable.

He started immediately by turning on his tag team partner Rob Van Dam but the next few months would see him attack the likes of Jim Ross and Linda McMahon.

Things are very different for Kane now. He's currently trying to become the Republican candidate to become the next mayor of Knox County in Tennessee.
