As Hornswoggle, Dylan Postl was a unique and hugely popular member of the WWE roster for more than 10 years.

In his decade with the company, Postl enjoyed great success, first as a leprechaun assassin by the side of Finlay and in several storylines with main-event level players such as Vince McMahon and D-Generation X.

He was also a cruiserweight champion, winning a six-man 'Cruiserweight Open' at the Great American Bash in 2007.

In 2016, Postl was given his WWE release and while recollections of that departure remain sad, he is forever grateful for the unexpectedly long run he had.

Since then he has - in his own words - 'rejuvenated' himself through his work wrestling on the independent scene and with his own wrestling school.

"When I got released by WWE it should have been the worst day of my life," he said. "I had a feeling it was coming but having a feeling about that and it actually happening are two different things.

"I didn't know how I was going to provide for my son. They called my dad and he told me I'd done some awesome things there and that I'd lasted longer than probably anyone thought I would.

"And that's true. I was told when I was hired it might be a six-month thing, and it turned out to be 10 years."
