Golden State Warriors forward Kevon Looney is out for the rest of the NBA Finals after picking up an injury in Game 2.
Looney suffered a non-displaced first costal cartilage fracture Sunday night in the Warriors' 109-104 win in Toronto.
In his fourth NBA season, Looney had emerged as a key contributor for Golden State. He set career highs in points (6.3), rebounds (5.2), assists (1.5) and minutes (18.5) per game. The 23-year-old upped his scoring average by nearly a point (7.2 per game) in 18 games during the 2019 NBA Playoffs.
Looney left the first half of the Warriors' win on Sunday after taking a hard fall. With the best-of-seven series shifting to Oakland tied at a game apiece, Looney had hoped to feature in Game 3.
But the Warriors medical staff have now ruled him out for the rest of the series.
Game 3 takes place in Oakland in the early hours of Thursday morning (2am) live on Sky Sports Arena.
