Giannis Antetokounmpo signed off for the All-Star break in style, posting a huge triple-double to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 106-97 win over the Indiana Pacers.
Antetokounmpo ensured the Bucks reached the All-Star break with the league's best record (43-14) with a dominant display in Indianapolis, putting up 33 points (on 12-of-22 shooting), 19 rebounds and 11 assists - his fifth triple-double of the season - to lead Milwaukee to their eighth win in 10 games.
Giannis opened his account early, scoring six points in the opening six minutes of game, including a two-handed dunk from a Khris Middleton pass. He then rampaged into the lane to score with another dunk following a deft spin move.
He turned distributor in the second quarter, kicking out a pass to Malcolm Brogdon for a three and making a smart dish after claiming an offensive rebound to set up an easy deuce.
Brogdon returned the favour in the third quarter, throwing up a come-and-dunk-me alley-oop pass which Antetokounmpo slammed home with relish, drawing a foul in the process.
Antetokounmpo showed why he leads the MVP race in crunch time. After Pacers forward Thaddeus Young hit a three-pointer to give the Pacers a 95-93 lead with 4:42 left, the 'Greek Freak' tied the game with a jump shot then fed team-mate Ersan Ilyasova for a wide-open lay-up that gave Milwaukee the lead with 2:36 left.
After a Middleton three-pointer, Antetokounmpo then hit four clutch free throws to closed out the game.
