James Harden scored 19 of his 22 points in the second half as Houston beat Denver

James Harden poured in 19 second-half points to lift the Houston Rockets to a road victory over the Denver Nuggets.

In a quiet first half, Harden showcased his ability to distribute the ball with a lofted baseline alley-oop pass finished at the rim by Rockets center Clint Capela.

With the Rockets trailing 55-54 at half-time, Harden took control of the game in the third period, hitting two free throws and a three-pointer as Houston took an 86-76 lead.

In the fourth quarter, Denver reduced the deficit to four points at 93-89 before Harden stepped up again to ice the game.

He started with two free throws, drove through the defense for a pair of lay-ups and then pulled up for a 25-foot three-pointer to give Houston a 102-91 lead.

Harden hit another layup and set up Capela for a dunk that gave Houston a 15-point lead with 3:10 left. He finished the game with 22 points and 11 assists as the Rockets ran out comfortable winners 109-99.
