Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry was not injured when the Porsche he was driving was hit twice in a multi-car crash on Friday morning.
His father, former NBA player Dell Curry, told KTVU in the Bay Area after the collision that his son had escaped injury in the incident.
"He's OK. We just want his groin injury to heal," the elder Curry said.
The collision occurred on Highway 24 on the Oakland side of the Caldecott Tunnel around 9am, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported.
The CHP said Curry's black Porsche was hit when a car spun out and hit it. Then, his vehicle was rear-ended by a second car.
Curry's car was damaged in the incident but he walked away from the crash along with the other drivers.
The CHP said the rainy weather likely contributed to the crash.
Curry, 30, has been sidelined since suffering a groin injury on November 8 in a game against the Milwaukee Bucks. He has missed eight games (including Friday night's game against Portland) and the team has not set a date for his return.
He will not play Saturday against Sacramento.
