LeBron James posted his third triple-double for the Los Angeles Lakers in a 112-104 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
James, who was battling flu-like symptoms leading into the game, racked up 22 points, 12 rebounds and 14 assists to ensure the Lakers snapped a two-game losing streak. It was his second triple-double in four games and the 76th of his career.
James opened his account in the opening minute of the game, driving hard into the heart of the Pelicans defense and scooping a shot home from almost directly under the basket.
In the second quarter, he claimed an offensive rebound before overpowering three Pelicans defenders to force home a three-point play.
James' play of the night came in the third quarter when he took a Brandon Ingram pass on the move at the top of the three-point arc to race into the paint and rattle home a powerful right-handed dunk over Anthony Davis.
With eight minutes remaining in the game, James posted up Darius Miller and lofted a beautiful turnaround jump shot over the Pelicans defender. He then iced the game with another jumper in the paint over Jrue Holiday.
