Bradley Beal scored 43 points in almost 55 minutes on court but it was not enough to prevent the Washington Wizards falling to defeat in a double-overtime thriller against the Toronto Raptors.
Beal had his second triple-double of the season, collecting season highs of 43 points and 15 assists along with 10 rebounds. His three-pointer with 20.4 seconds left in regulation tied it at 124 to force overtime. His jumper with 6.8 seconds to play in the first overtime tied it at 131.
Beal hit 17-of-36 from the field, including six of his 12 three-point attempts but it was not enough as Serge Ibaka's three-pointer with 15.2 seconds remaining lifted the visiting Toronto Raptors to a 140-138 victory.
Beal joined Oscar Robertson as the only players in NBA history with multiple games of 40 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds in a season. Robertson had three such games in 1961-62.
He did not have much to say about it, though, leaving the locker room before it opened to the media as the Wizards scrambled to make a flight to London for their next game.
