Sacramento Kings acquire Harrison Barnes from Dallas Mavericks

NBA trade deadline is 8pm (UK time) on Thursday night

The Sacramento Kings are set to acquire forward Harrison Barnes from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for forwards Justin Jackson and Zach Randolph, according to reports from The Athletic and ESPN.

Barnes, 26, was on the court for the Mavericks as trade reports surfaced Wednesday night. He entered the day averaging 17.8 points and 4.3 rebounds a game for Dallas, where he has spent the past two-plus seasons after beginning his pro career with the Golden State Warriors.

The deal capped a busy day for Sacramento, which reportedly shipped guard Iman Shumpert to the Houston Rockets earlier in the evening as part of a three-way deal. The Kings acquired Alec Burks from the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of that trade.

In exchange for Barnes, the Mavericks welcomed Jackson, 23, and Randolph, 37, who has not played this season.

Jackson averaged 6.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in 52 games (three starts) with Sacramento this season. The former North Carolina standout grew up in Houston and has appeared in 120 career NBA games (44 starts) since the Kings selected him with the No. 15 overall pick in 2017
