Karl-Anthony Towns threw down a huge windmill slam on his return to the Minnesota line-up and led the Timberwolves to a 112-105 victory over the Sacramento Kings.
Towns scored 34 points and collected 21 rebounds in his return from a concussion to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to their fourth win in their last five games.
His double-double included a play in the second quarter that brought the crowd to their feet. With 5:01 left in the second quarter, Timberwolves defensive tyro Josh Okogie forced Kings guard Buddy Hield into a turnover. The ball was immediately advanced upcourt to an open Town, who had time to gather himself and throw down an emphatic windmill slam.
Towns stuffed the stat sheet on his Wolves return, adding five assists and two blocks and connecting on 13-of-18 on his shot attempts. He made three of his six attempts from three-point range.
The Timberwolves center played in 303 consecutive games before missing the last two due to the concussion. The injury occurred last Thursday when Towns was a passenger in a car that stopped on the freeway due to an accident, only to be struck from behind by a truck.
