Stephen Curry drained 11 three-pointers, including a game-tying last-second triple, but could not prevent the Golden State Warriors from falling to a controversial overtime loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Curry racked up 37 points on 13-of-25 shooting and added five assists, three rebounds and a pair of steals. His 11 threes came from 19 attempts from beyond the arc.
Two-time MVP Curry thought he had rescued the Warriors from defeat in overtime when he made a clutch corner three with 0.5 seconds remaining to tied the game at 130-130.
However, a controversial foul call condemned the Warriors to defeat.
Following Curry's game-tying triple, Kevin Durant was adjudged to have fouled Minnesota center Karl-Anthony Towns as he was breaking for the basket on an inbounds play.
Durant was called for a pushing foul near the hoop even though the pass appeared to be clearly over both players' heads.
Towns made the first of two free throws before missing the second intentionally, which allowed time to run out, giving the Minnesota Timberwolves a 131-130 victory.
Golden State's loss allowed Denver, who won earlier in the night at Oklahoma City, to draw even with the Warriors for the top spot in the West at 51-24 with seven games remaining.
