James Harden poured in 36 points to lead the Houston Rockets to a road win over the Sacramento Kings.
Harden needed just 29 minutes to collect his 36-point haul. He shot 12-of-19 from the field, including 7-of-12 from three-point range, and made five of his six free throws.
The MVP co-favourite also contributed 10 assists to record his 32nd double-double of the season. ensuring the Rockets completed a sweep of their four-game season series with the Kings with an emphatic 130-105 win.
Harden raced to 23 points in the first half of the game, opening the scoring with a trademark drive into the lane and a left-handed finish. He continued to tease the Kings defenders, getting to the rim at will to score with lay-ups and adding a pair of second-quarter three-pointers.
Houston extended their lead to 59-46 with 1:21 left in the first half when Harden scored twice in a 15-second span, with Chris Paul recording a steal following the initial Harden basket and providing the assist on the second.
During one three-plus minute stretch in the third quarter, Harden recorded two assists and three triples, capping that run with a four-point play that stretched the advantage to 89-68 with 3:21 remaining in the period.
