Netball Superleague: Yorkshire Jets produce winning response at Team Northumbria

Yorkshire Jets claimed a comfortable 59-45 win over Team Northumbria as they responded well to their Netball Superleague setback at the weekend.
The Jets slipped to a heavy defeat against Surrey Storm on Saturday, but this result failed to dishearten Anna Carter’s side, who controlled the game for long spells in Newcastle.
Northumbria headed into the game on the back of a weekend win over Celtic Dragons, although their confidence was soon dented by the free-scoring visitors.
At half-time, Yorkshire had opened up a commanding 32-19 advantage and Carter saw no need for changes, with her team dominating the match in every department.
There was little sign of a fightback from the hosts, who trailed 46-30 at the end of the third quarter, allowing the Jets to ease through the closing minutes.
Meg Clark came on for the injured Lauren Potter in a rare moment of concern for Yorkshire, but they prepared well for Friday’s war of the roses clash against champions Manchester Thunder.
